UPDATE PLTGU BULELENG

CITIZENS' PETITION

Thursday, 09 May 2025
Report on Coordination and Clarification Activities with PLTGU Pemaron by  Satpol PP followed up on the Forkom Link Buleleng NGO hearing, chaired by Nyoman Tirtawan, former member of DPR I Bali Province, regarding the impact of the operation of PLTGU machines which disturbed the surrounding environment. Coordination was received by Mr. Adi Subuat as Assistant Manager accompanied by Mr. Ananta.

In his explanation, it was stated that the citizens' petition contained in the letter submitted to the Regent would be followed up together with other PLN UPTs, because each had its own duties and authority.
For PLTGU, in this case PT Indonesia Power, as the person responsible, as stated in the Petition regarding the sound and smoke that caused disturbance to the surrounding environment, explained that after the Black Out incident, in accordance with PLN policy, the existing machines were turned on to back up and support the electricity supply in Buleleng Regency, related to the sound and smoke generated from PLTGU by carrying out noise tests with the results obtained around 90 db from a distance of 300 m, while the threshold is 55 db, so adjustments and solutions still need to be made to achieve threshold in question.

Thursday (8/5/2025) afternoon the affected communities who are members of the Buleleng Regency Environmental Community Communication Forum (Forkom Link) held an audience with the Buleleng Regency Government (Pemkab) represented by Kasatpol PP I Gede Arya Suardana. Noise caused by activities at the Pemaron PLTGU in the Pemaron Village area, Buleleng District, has begun to be heard again, after the blackout that occurred on Friday (2/5/2025).

It turns out that the noise from the machines there caused disturbances to local residents, not only in the Pemaron Village area, where the PLTGU is located. Even people who live in a BTN near a power plant, apart from being noisy, also feel continuous earthquake-like vibrations.
